On this episode of The Soaring Child Podcast, the topic of discussion is the number 1 treatment for kids with ADHD, and that’s a functional and nutritious diet. Many doctors know about the inadequacies of ineffectiveness of medicine like Adderall, but still continue to prescribe it to kids, instead of focusing on the root of the problem, which starts in the gut. 80% of the body’s entire immune system exists in the gut, therefore diet is the main factor when it comes to illness and disease.

We dive deep into the dangers of not only traditional western medicine, but also the dangers of the types of food we are feeding to our children. There are several studies now that show how an improved diet is much more effective in treating ADHD than traditional medication. There are also many studies that show how the consumption of gluten, dairy, artificial preservatives, and other food groups are exacerbating the immunological progression of our children.

It’s time to change the traditional way of treating ADHD. The studies are available, and now more than ever with the advancement of technology. There are no more excuses one can give. I’ve attached the studies mentioned on the podcast if one wants to pursue more insight. Enjoy!

“leaky gut is when food particles slip out of the intestinal walls and head into the bloodstream. When this occurs, the body recognizes the food particles as foreign matter and then creates an immunological response”

“leaky gut  might show up in the following ways: things like inflammation, malabsorption of essential nutrients, transfer of toxins to the brain, which results in poor concentration, poor memory, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues”

In 2002, a study was done to show the connection between food intolerances and depression. The study concluded that, the patient’s symptoms of depression considerably improved on an elimination diet.”

“The adderral ratio on parent responses on who got better compared to who got worse, was 0.7–1. What that means is that for every 0.7 children who got better, 1 child got worse using Adderall… more children got worse when using Adderall.”

“parents who implemented a gluten-free and dairy-free diet for their children, showed a 24–1 ratio. That means that for ever 24 kids that got better, only 1 child got worse”

“It’s time for something to change. It’s time for the first line of treatment to be food, rather than a prescription that has a 50% of making it worse”
