Many people have heard that magnesium is a good supplement for children with ADHD.

But did you know there are actually MULTIPLE forms of magnesium, and they’re all used by the body for different things?

In this post, I’m going to share about 8 different types and what they are most used for…

Then, I’ll share my absolute favorite magnesium for children with ADHD.

8 Types of Magnesium:

1- MAGNESIUM CHELATE – This form of magnesium is especially important for muscle building, recovery, and health.

2 – MAGNESIUM CITRATE – This form of magnesium is great to get the bowels moving when you are constipated.

3 – MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE – This form of magnesium is often used to help with stomach upset, heartburn, and acid indigestion. It can also be helpful with anxiety or with pain management.

4 – MAGNESIUM MALATE – Magnesium Malate can help with migraines, chronic pain, and depression. It can improve the mood as well.

5 – MAGNESIUM SUCROSOMIAL – This form of magnesium helps energy production. It also supports the immune system and supports bone health.

6 – MAGNESIUM TAURATE – This is the form of magnesium best for your heart. Magnesium Taurate also supports the nervous system, energy, blood pressure, sleep and digestion.

7 – MAGNESIUM OROTATE – While also helpful for the heart, magnesium orotate is also beneficial for metabolic systems.

8- MAGNESIUM L-THREONATE – There are studies that suggest that this type of magnesium is superior to other forms of magnesium at getting through the blood-brain barrier. That means that this particular type of magnesium can be really great at supporting brain health and cognitive function.

So you can see that using magnesium is not as simple as just running to your local pharmacy and picking up any bottle.

FORMULATION matters!

I promised to share my favorite magnesium for children with ADHD, and I’m not going to leave you hanging!

My absolute favorite for children with ADHD is Magnesium L-Threonate because it can cross the blood-brain barrier and deliver magnesium directly to the brain, which, as you can imagine, is really helpful for kids with ADHD.

That’s why I absolutely LOVE our brand new Mind Thrive Magnesium
